We set every post 30–36 inches deep in concrete with proper drainage gravel at the bottom — even when local code says 24 is OK. Texas clay swells, contracts, and uplifts. The deeper post is the difference between a fence that stays straight at year 10 and one that needs re-setting at year 3.

Cedar privacy fence: $24–$38 per linear foot installed (6-foot height). Ornamental aluminum: $32–$48. Vinyl privacy: $34–$52. Chain-link: $14–$26. A typical residential yard with 220 linear feet runs $5,200–$11,500 for cedar, $7,000–$10,500 for aluminum. Free written quote per linear foot.
How long does install take?+
Most residential fences: 1–3 days from start to finish. Larger or custom installs: 3–5 days. Same-week installs are sometimes possible after estimate is approved if our schedule has space. Lead time on quotes is typically 1–2 weeks for actual install dates.
Will my HOA approve it?+
We pull HOA guidelines before measuring and verify our quote matches their requirements (height, material, color, gate placement). Most established HOAs have approved styles on file. We submit HOA forms on your behalf when you ask. We’ve installed in 100+ San Antonio HOAs.
What about Texas heat and clay soil?+
Posts set 30–36 inches deep in 8-inch-diameter concrete sleeves with gravel drainage at the bottom. Standard 24-inch posts in shallow concrete pop up after a few hot dry summers in Texas clay. Our posts are designed for the soil here, not for a generic Florida sandy install.
Do you do repairs or just new installs?+
Both. Sagging gates, broken pickets, leaning sections, post replacements, and post-storm repairs are routine. Repair quotes typically same-day. Most repairs $150–$650 depending on access and materials.
